Multi-Family Housing Debt / by urbanexus

Mike Kelley of Caldera Asset Management has posted an informative chart showing the sources an amount of financing provided for multi-family housing in the USA from the end of 2000 through the first quarter of 2011.  The government sponsored enterprises, primarily the Federal National Mortgage Association ("FannieMae") and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation ("FreddieMac".) now hold a little more than 40% of all the apartment debt.  Caldera estimates that these entities account for about 80% of current debt origination.
