Cooper Union Academic Building Time Lapse Construction

John Hill is a New York City architect who posts almost everyday at  A Daily Dose of Architecture. On November 19, 20101, he called attention to some fascinating time-lapse photography that captures the construction of a new academic building--including deconstruction of the building that formerly occupied the site.  This is a new building for  The Cooper for the Advancement of Science and Art, an all honors private college that offers a rigorous tuition-free education in architecture, art or engineering. The You Tube video was posted by fatboyslimisgod's who notes that, "This is two and a half years of construction at about 4 frames per day up until May 24, 2009. The new Cooper Union Academic located in Cooper Square in the East Village of Manhattan will be a LEED platinum certified "green" building."  The building was designed by Morphosis and you may learn more about it at Cooper Union Builds.
